Those words ended the search and promised it was safe to come back. They offered relief, belonging, and the reassurance that no one had to hide any longer. Outside the playground, that promise is harder to believe. Many of us continue waiting for someone, or something, to convince us the danger has passed and it's finally safe to be fully seen.

We still hope someone will tell us it's safe to come out.
