The Architecture of Being Human

Fragile explores the invisible architecture that shapes who we become: the beliefs, memories, and behaviors that quietly define how we see ourselves and one another.

The word fragile appears on packages as a reminder to handle them with care. People rarely come with the same label, though perhaps they should.

Drawing from architecture, childhood, memory, music, and popular culture, each piece begins with something familiar before revealing something more personal. Nostalgia becomes reflection. Play becomes ritual. Structure becomes metaphor.

The work invites us to look again, recognize ourselves, and consider vulnerability as one of the foundations of being human.

Biography

Jim Foley is a Dallas-based artist working under the name Fragile. His work explores architecture, memory, psychology, and the quiet systems that shape human behavior.

Originally trained in fine art, he has spent more than four decades in visual communication before returning to a deeply personal studio practice. His work has been exhibited in museums and galleries and is held in private collections.
